ML. Hair Studio opened in August 2020, we are an independent, friendly studio with a small team of staff. In October we then had Beauty Within by Vicky open their doors making us a hair & beauty studio . We are passionate about our planet. We aspire to lead the way in our area for sustainable salons. We will provide you with top quality hair services that minimise the damage to world around us, we believe if we all play a small part we can preserve what we love. We are proud to be a Davines concept salon. Davines was founded in Parma, Italy in 1983 by the Bollati Family, still to this day a family run company keeping farmers and families in business around the world using sustainable beauty products. For this reason we are delighted to use such quality products in our colour and retaill range. Our colours provide superior, uniform colour penetration in to the hair’s structure, offering extra shine, a high conditioning effect and outstanding duration of the colour. Beauty Within by Vicky also shares the values of the salon with our main skin care range coming from a family-run, UK business of more than 50 years Eve Taylor. Our essential oils are 100% natural and sustainably sourced. They do not test on animals – only on willing humans and the majority of the range is vegan-friendly. All our packaging is recyclable, and they work with Trees for the Future to plant one tree for every Eve Taylor retail product sold and have pledged to plant a minimum of 100,000 trees per year. We aspire to create a relaxing environment with luxury touches to make your visit at ML. Hair & Beauty Studio truly memorable.

Hairstylist, mummy, wife and girl boss.
I’ve been involved in this industry since 2006. In my first salon I worked up from junior to senior stylist, I then made the move to another salon which I expanded my clientele, then in early 2017, I started managing a small salon inside of Bannatynes Health club Durham. At Christmas time I made the decision to start my own business going freelance, then, unfortunately, the world was hit with the Covid19 pandemic which left a lot of us out of work and worried what would happen next. That didn't stop me dreaming and during the time off I made the decision to start my own salon in my home town of Bishop Auckland. Having had my first little boy in late 2018 being nearer home works so much better around my family life and means I can pursue the parts of my career I love! I got premises for the hair studio in June 2020 and its been a whirlwind since then. I always wanted to create a quirky space where client care was our main concern. When Vicky opened, our businesses complimented each other perfectly. I now wake up and love going to work. I can't wait to see what the future holds for ML. Hair & Beauty.

Beauty Therapist, Mam to two and self confessed skincare junkie!! Skincare has always been a passion of mine ever since I was young and I suffered with terrible acne. Im a people person and have always worked within a customer service environment. I worked for a large well known Health Club chain on and off for over 15 years in various different roles one of them being a Spa host. This job saw me greeting and looking after all the guests, organising appointments and ensuring the Spa ran smoothly on a day to day basis. I was in my element! I could talk skincare and advise on the best treatments for clients until the cows came home. This was 2015 i was 37 and that is when I decided to go back to college and persue my dream of working within the beauty industry as an actual hands on therapist. I qualified in only 10 months and was promoted from spa host to beauty therapist straight away. Within a year I was promoted to Senior Spa Therapist over seeing a team of 13 staff and I have never looked back. I never thought it would be possible to wake each morning and LOVE the job I do but now I appreciate how lucky I am. I truly believe we can all feel good about ourselves and I also believe in natural beauty and enhancing what we have. I have some lovely loyal clients that have followed me since the beginning, I was working for a small family run business in Newton Aycliffe as well as part time from home when I met Michaela. Something just clicked and I knew now was the time to make the leap. I officially opened Beauty Within ML Hair on 1st October 2020 and its been a whirlwind! Despite the ups and downs of the last few months I know 2021 is going to be the best year yet!

Hi my names Jess, I am the newest edition to the ML Team, starting on 16th September. I have 5years experience in hairdressing and love to be creative with hair cuts and colours, nothing is too crazy! I love keeping up with the latest trends, hairdressing is such a fast paced industry I love to make sure I am always learning and will continue to do so. I love doing pin ups for weddings/nights out and other occasions. In my free time I’m pretty busy planning my future wedding and running around with my two beautiful children Ethan and Millie.
